Pakistan Population Stands at 156.77 Million During 2006-07

In the article “Pakistan Population Stands at 156.77 Million During 2006-07”, the author claims that in the past fifty years, the population of Pakistan has spurted in growth from 32.5 million to 156.77 million, or increased its growth rate by 2.6 percent per year on average. Extensive population of Pakistan has more opportunities to attract external investment that may bring lots of benefits to its labor force. This article also claims that Pakistan has three stages of population transitions, from the past fifty years until the next fifty years. In the first stage, both fertility rate and mortality rate are increasing. In the second stage, both fertility rate and mortality rate are decreasing. In the third stage, fertility rate may become lower and old age-mortality decreases. It says that different generations will change the age structure of the population in Pakistan.

The government has to care for the country’s population age structure of population transition. There are three reasons that prove the advantages of a large population. A large population will contribute to the economy, human resources and investment.

First, a large population will help economic growth because it is the most important element to encourage economic growth. However, the government can collect more tax revenue from economy growth to develop country. Moreover, government could be able to develop medical technology for people from economic growth. Also, economic growth also can provide people have an opportunity to receive education.

Second, a large population will bring more human resources. The human resources have lots of benefits for society. For example, people have more job opportunities in hand-made factories because hand-made products are more valuable than machine-made products. Most factories could have high quality products because the owner of the factory can easily hire employees to check products. Large human resources also can increase different kinds of services for people. For example, a company can provide customers the best services in fixing, selling and changing products.

Third, a large population will attract more foreign investment because it can make lots of dividends for investors. For example, a large population equals large consumers who can spend lots of money to buy products. However, more foreign investment could bring new technology for a country, which will develop a country’s industry to increase its economy. Moreover, more foreign investment also can increase their standard of living, because they will make more services available to the residents. Therefore, a large population is the best element to stimulate foreign entrepreneurs to invest.

In conclusion, in my opinion, a large population must have a good economy to support itself, because a good social economy can offer lots of resources for people. For example, education, jobs and medical services….etc, all of which are people’s life needs. However, a good economy can decrease mortality rate, which causes increasing population. Therefore, the large population also is good for developing the economy of countries. There is a good example; China is a developing country, whose the government has a good policy to solve large population problems. The government not only uses manpower to encourage economic advances, but also offers education for people.

The Population Bomb

The Population Bomb

In the article “The Population Bomb” the author claims that during the last six decades Pakistan’s population has grown greatly from 32.5 million to 160.25 million. Also, Shahbaz Hussain is a Federal Population Welfare Minister who said Pakistan is a part of South Asia, which is a penniless region and has one of the higher populations in the world. He was concerned about Pakistan’s population which will bring extreme problems to people. For example, the government can not offer enough health services and educational systems for people. However, this article mentions what the reasons for Pakistan’s population increasing are, such as a high fertility rate and a low infant mortality rate, which can develop a country’s population. Meanwhile, if the Pakistan government also improves health services, medicine techniques and sanitation systems that will help Pakistan’s population increasing. Therefore, the author wants us to know a great population that is not a big problem for a country. This depends on a government’s policies. Is it focusing on the people’s environment?

It is apparent that the author’s opinion is right in this article. The government has to care for the country’s environment. Is it good for people who have a great population condition? Even if a great population causes lots of problems, the government still has to solve them. If the government can from develop education, economy and medical techniques to improve our environment, than a great population’s people still can feel happiness.

First of all, I used to live in a highly populated country, Taiwan, so in my opinion education is a very important factor to control population. Education can let people to know about prevention of pregnancy and it also can develop its economy and environment. However, people can get education, so they will easily get jobs and solve many kinds of environment problems. For example, in the past fifty years, Taiwan has had a really high growth rate and high infant mortality rate, because people didn’t know how to prevent pregnancy and also low education led to infants dying in first year of life, because they didn’t have enough medical science to treat diseases. Therefore, the government has to develop education, which is a first step for population growth or reduction.

Next, economy is a major factor to affect country’s population. It also is a signal that lets government officials know what causes population growth. For example, a society or a family has a low economy, which will cause people to not like having children, and it also leads to a birth rate decrease. Therefore, if the government supports society to have high economy, this lets people be able to raise their children and that country’s population will increase.

Finally, the developing medical techniques are very helpful in population’s promotion. It will lead to infant mortality rate decrease and control of fertility rate. However, a country has developing medical techniques that will protect people or infants from diseases and cause a decline in death rate. Moreover, the developing medical techniques also can increase fertility rate or birth rate, because it could bring a good opportunity for women who can’t get pregnant. For example, in the past, some people had a problem in pregnancy because they didn’t have a good medical technique to solve it, but now almost every developed country has low infant mortality rate because of new medical technique.

In conclusion, in the future, even though most countries tend to high population, we have to appeal to our government to improve environment first, because people are the most important part in the country, and a the government has responsibility to take care of them. Therefore, a country with a large population, we should have a good environment to support people living in society. In my opinion, a country with a large population is not a big problem, because we have a good example of a country, China. In China, people have education and good economic society that supports China even if has a great population, but people are still happy, because the Chinese government has a good policy in environment.

Taiwan’s Environment Good for Children

Taiwan’s Environment Good for Children

What place has a good environment for children to grow up? The answer: Taiwan. Why? In Taiwan, the children have to accept 12 years of school education, which makes society have a higher economy because children can easily get careers after they grow up. Taiwan’s high economy can make a better chance for people to have a wealthy life. Also, Taiwan is one of the countries which has a good environment for children to grow up in. There are three reasons to prove it: first, Taiwan has a good education condition for children to add competitiveness; second, Taiwan has a wealthy condition for children to get life needs; and third, Taiwan has many democratic families to help children grow up.

First, the good education condition can provide children more competitiveness and more opportunity to get jobs in the society. For example, the good education condition can correct children’s behaviors so that they will know how to control themselves and become polite people. Also, children learn a lot of knowledge from school. It is really helpful in the developing of the economy. Therefore, companies can easily hire their employees and workers also can easily find a job.

Second, the wealthy condition that can let children get life needs and it also reduces children’s stress. Before twenty years ago, Taiwan was a developing country; most children had to do a job with their parents or make hand-made products at home. Even if they wanted to attend school, they couldn’t, because they had to make money for their family to buy life needs first. After that, Taiwan became a developed country; most children who have a wealthy condition can attend school to get knowledge and education. They don’t worry about having to make money to support their families, and they also can easily get school supplies for study.

Third, the democratic family can let children know democracy earlier and let children become more independent. For example, their parents will talk to them and listen to them, and their parents also want to know what their children really need. Children can talk to their parents about their opinions, and their parents will have a discussion with them. Before children grow up, their parents set up a limit to deal with their children’s questions. This way children can learn earlier what they can do and what they cannot do.

Some people say that the wealthy condition is harmful to children’s minds; it will make them continue dependence on their parents. However, they are wrong, because children can have a wealthy condition, and still learn independence. The U.S.A. is the best example because it is a developed and wealthy country but most teenagers are very independent. Moreover, in the American culture, most families believe the democratic family education is good for children, so their children have to accept democratic education when they are teenager. Children know how to express their opinion to their parents and have a discussion. Therefore, if children live in wealthy condition that will make children more independent, and they also do jobs after senior high school, so that they can build their own money to support their life things.

In conclusion, I disagree that children can’t have a wealthy condition in their daily life, and I also support education and democratic families for children, because both of them are good for children’s brain and mind. It makes our children stronger. If they don’t have a wealthy condition to attend school to get education, how can we have experts in our future society? The wealthy condition also can reduce children’s stress, because they don’t have to worry about financial problems and have toys to reduce their pressure. I was born in a developing country, Taiwan. I know how much they suffered. Most children didn’t get educated, and they also had to get a job and contribute to the family income. It was really bad a situation in Taiwan. Now Taiwan is a developed country; every child has the chance to attend school and get everything they need. Therefore, we can realize how important the wealthy condition is for our children.
